Get Your Microdoses Here!

From First Step To First Dose

Hey, Community! 👋

We’ve heard from SO MANY OF YOU about your interest in microdosing!

But one big question keeps getting asked: Where do I get microdoses?

The answer is a lot closer to home than you think, so this issue is all about getting you started.

Let’s talk about the best practices for anyone curious about assembling their own microdose supply. It is easier—and more affordablethan you might think!

Legal Note: The cultivation supplies discussed are legal to purchase in the U.S. for educational or research purposes, as they do not contain psilocybin; this compound develops only during mushroom growth. Cultivating or possessing psilocybin-containing mushrooms remains illegal in many jurisdictions.

🍄 Why Make Your Own Microdose?

No matter where you live in the U.S., you can easily purchase mushroom-growing supplies for research purposes—no questions asked.

Why People Choose To Make Their Own:

  • Quality Control: You know exactly what’s going into every capsule.

  • Low Key: You purchase the supplies online, they show up, you grow your mushrooms, you make your capsules. Completely discreet.

  • Budget-Friendly: Start-up costs are low.

  • Nowhere Else To Get Them

By taking charge of your supply, you can skip the middleman and create your own private and reliable way to microdose.

Beginner-Friendly: Liquid Culture & Grow Bags

You can't microdose if you don't have mushrooms….

An all-in-one grow bag and liquid culture syringe makes the process foolproof—even for first-timers!

Why Liquid Culture? Liquid culture contains live mycelium, allowing mushrooms to grow faster and with more certainty than starting from spores.

How It Is Done:

  1. Inoculate: Inject the liquid culture into the grow bag following instructions from North Spore.

  2. 70 to 75 degrees: Store in a dark and warm-ish place. Cupboards work well.

  3. Wait & Watch: Try not to distrub it. Follow The mycelium will fill the bag, becoming white, and more solid. Producing “fruit” in just a few weeks!

Harvesting your mushrooms and turning them into capsules is the best way to microdose.

You'll pick > dry > grind > and fill your capsules using a capsule filler.

Here’s how to do it:

Harvest

  1. Observe: Look for opened caps and mushrooms that feel soft, like marshmallows. This indicates maturity and readiness for harvest.

  2. Check for Spores: Harvest mushrooms before they start dropping spores. If they have already dropped spores, no problem—it just makes a bit of a mess.

  3. Harvest Gently: Twist the mushroom at the base to remove it from the substrate.

Dry & Grind

  1. Prepare the Dehydrator: Set your dehydrator to around 160°F

  2. Dry to ‘Cracker Dry’: Allow mushrooms to dry until they’re brittle and snap easily—this can take 24 to 48 Hours.

  3. Grind to Powder: Use a dedicated grinder (or a clean blender, spice, or coffee grinder) to grind the mushrooms into a fine powder.

    • Tip: If the grinder is for food, clean it thoroughly before and after, or use a grinder reserved for mushrooms.

Capsule Preparation

  1. Get Pre-Separated Capsules: Size 1 capsules are ideal for microdoses.

  2. Measure Mushrooms: For a 100-capsule batch, measure 10 grams of mushroom powder.

Filling Capsules

  1. Set Up Capsule Filler: Place the empty capsules in the capsule Filler.

  2. Distribute Powder Evenly: Carefully fill the capsule filler with mushroom powder, ensuring each capsule receives approximately 0.1 grams.

Storing Your Capsules

  1. Airtight Container: Store capsules in an airtight container, ideally in a cool, dark place.

  2. Label: Mark the container with the contents, date, and dosage information.

  3. Storage Duration: Properly stored capsules can last up to 12 months.
